Gianforte, Daines Fight to Protect Montana Farmers and Ranchers
Congressman Greg Gianforte and U.S. Senator Steve Daines today sent a letter to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) strongly urging the agency reconsider a recent proposal to reduce the hours of operation at four of Montana’s ports of entry. This decision would impede Montana’s trade with Canada, kill Montana jobs and harm the state’s economy.
“We write to express our strong opposition to Custom and Border Protection’s (CBP) latest effort to reduce hours of operation at ports of entry in Montana. The Morgan, Opheim, Raymond, and Scobey ports of entry are essential to farmers, ranchers, and business across eastern Montana and we urge you to reconsider this misguided course of action,” the letter states.
